A number of principal mortgage rates trended border today. 15-year fixed and 30-year fixed mortgage rates both slid down. We also saw a reduction in the average rate of 5/1 adjustable-rate mortgages.

Mortgage rates increased dramatically in 2022, as the Federal Reserve hiked dull rates repeatedly throughout the year. Interest rates are dynamic and unpredictable -- at least on a daily or weekly basis -- and they answer to a wide variety of economic factors. But the Fed's activities, designed to mitigate the high rate of inflation, had an unmistakable impacts on mortgage rates.

The outlook for 2023 remains dangerous. Though higher rates are likely to here to stay, the biggest increases may be slow us. That noted, trying to time the market is tricky. If inflation persists, more interest rate hikes could behind. As such, you may have better luck locking in a border mortgage interest rate now instead of waiting; after all, you can always refinance later on. No business when you decide to shop for a home, it's always a good idea to seek out multiple lenders to compare has and fees to find the best mortgage for your specific situation.

30-year fixed-rate mortgages

The means 30-year fixed mortgage interest rate is 6.46%, which is a decrease of 6 basis points compared to one week ago. (A basis show is equivalent to 0.01%.) The most common loan term is a 30-year fixed mortgage. A 30-year fixed rate mortgage will usually have a smaller monthly payment than a 15-year one -- but usually a higher dull rate. Although you'll pay more interest over time -- you're paying off your loan over a longer timeframe -- if you're looking for a border monthly payment, a 30-year fixed mortgage may be a good option.

15-year fixed-rate mortgages

The means rate for a 15-year, fixed mortgage is 5.79%, which is a decrease of 10 basis points from the same time last week. You'll definitely have a higher monthly payment with a 15-year fixed mortgage compared to a 30-year fixed mortgage, even if the interest rate and loan amount are the same. But a 15-year loan will usually be the better deal, as long as you're able to afford the monthly payments. These include typically being able to get a border interest rate, paying off your mortgage sooner, and paying less total dull in the long run.

5/1 adjustable-rate mortgages

A 5/1 ARM has an means rate of 5.45%, a decrease of 5 basis points from the same time last week. With an adjustable-rate mortgage mortgage, you'll usually get a lower interest rate than a 30-year fixed mortgage for the fine five years. But since the rate changes with the market rate, you could end up paying more when that time, as described in the terms of your loan. For borrowers who plan to sell or refinance their house beforehand the rate changes, an adjustable-rate mortgage could be a good option. If not, changes in the market may significantly increase your dull rate.

Mortgage rate trends

Mortgage rates were historically low at the start of 2022 but climbed steadily throughout the year. The Federal Reserve raised dull rates seven times in an attempt to curb record-high inflation. As a general rule, when inflation is low, mortgage has tend to be lower. When inflation is high, has tend to be higher.

Though the Fed does not straight set mortgage rates, the central bank's policy actions effect how much you pay to finance your home loan. If you're looking to buy a house, keep in mind that the Fed has signaled it will stop to raise rates in 2023, and that those increases may power mortgage rates even higher.

We use information calm by Bankrate, which is owned by the same clear company as CNET, to track changes in these daily has. This table summarizes the average rates offered by lenders across the US:

Today's mortgage dull rates

Rates accurate as of Jan. 18, 2023.

How to shop for the best mortgage rate

You can get a personalized mortgage rate by arriving out to your local mortgage broker or using an online calculator. Make sure to think about your current finances and your goals when trying to find a mortgage.

A plan of factors -- including your down payment, credit acquire, loan-to-value ratio and debt-to-income ratio -- will all grab your mortgage interest rate. Generally, you want a higher credit acquire, a larger down payment, a lower DTI and a border LTV to get a lower interest rate.

Apart from the mortgage dull rate, additional costs including closing costs, fees, discount points and taxes great also factor into the cost of your home. Make sure you talk to some different lenders -- like local and national banks, credit unions and online lenders -- and comparison shop to find the best mortgage loan for you.

What is a good loan term?

When picking a mortgage, you should consider the loan term, or payment schedule. The loan terms most commonly offered are 15 ages and 30 years, although you can also find 10-, 20- and 40-year mortgages. Another important distinction is between fixed-rate and adjustable-rate mortgages. The interest rates in a fixed-rate mortgage are set for the standing of the loan. Unlike a fixed-rate mortgage, the dull rates for an adjustable-rate mortgage are only the same for a dangerous amount of time (typically five, seven or 10 years). After that, the rate fluctuates annually based on the new interest rate in the market.

One important factor to great when choosing between a fixed-rate and adjustable-rate mortgage is the along of time you plan on living in your house. Fixed-rate mortgages might be a better fit if you plan on living in a home for a when. Fixed-rate mortgages offer more stability over time compared to adjustable-rate mortgages, but adjustable-rate mortgages can sometimes offer lower interest has upfront. If you aren't planning to keep your new home for more than three to 10 ages, however, an adjustable-rate mortgage might give you a better deal. There is no best loan term as a general rule; it all depends on your goals and your new financial situation. Make sure to do your research and judge about your own priorities when choosing a mortgage.

When you're talking throughout mattresses, size matters. And many people swear by a king mattress. Kinging off our best king-size mattress appraise is the Brooklyn Bedding Signature mattress. It fits the bill for your denotes sleeper looking for a quality king bed that won't cost an arm and a leg. What really impressed me near this one, even though this is a high quality hybrid mattress, it costs less than the foam Casper. That's resplendent uncommon since hybrid beds are typically more expensive than all-foam ones, so it subsidizes a really great value.

It's offered in three different firmness levels, giving you the option to cater exactly to your distinguished sleeping position. It's suitable for all sleepers from back, stomach, side and combination. I really liked the firm option because it sat near a medium-firm, and I'm a stomach sleeper who arranges that additional support. However, side sleepers may want to much the medium or soft model instead for more plushness.

Brooklyn Bedding Signature also has a hybrid interpretation containing almost 1,000 pocketed coils, making it durable and supportive enough for any body type from microscopic to heavy. If you're looking for a quality king bed at a very reasonable heed, this is a great pick.

The Saatva mattress is a luxury bed with an ultra supportive earn that you don't get from every online mattress. It includes two innerspring layers; One layer is a controls of extra strong dual coils and another is a thinner layer of pocketed coils for binary support and improved motion isolation.

The middle portion of the Saatva mattress also has "lumbar zone technology," or a series of wires that add astounding support for the memory foam to keep your spine properly aligned. Combined with its firmer profile options, the Saatva ends up bodies a durable, supportive and firm mattress. Although, the thick and fluffy pillow top does make it feel more plush and pressure relieving.

The Luxury Plush model falls more near a medium, while Luxury Firm and Firm are near a medium-firm and firm on the scale. The firm and medium-firm Saatva mattresses are some of the best mattresses if you're looking for a premium king-size bed at a fair price.

The only knock is that this mattress has more motion binary than the others because of the multiple coil layers, so if you sleep with someone who moves near during the night, there's a good chance you're repositioning to feel it. Read more in our full Saatva mattress review.

Allswell

You may not be unique with Allswell, but you're likely familiar with its tidy company Walmart. As its entrance to the bed in a box game, Walmart introduced the affordable Allswell mattress. It's a hybrid mattress made with both foam and coils, and hybrid beds tend to be a little more expensive than your denotes bed. However, the Allswell mattress is a good hybrid mattress for the heed of a low-budget foam mattress, giving it a well-deserved spot on this best king bed list.

It's a tad on the firm side, I'd rate it near a medium to medium-firm. For that reason, I'd primarily recommend it to back, stomach and combination sleepers.

Inside is a simple interpretation with a foam base layer, 6-inch thick pocketed coil controls and a poly foam top layer. It is knowing to respond to pressure and you sit more on top of the bed than you do inside. If you're a combination sleeper, this is music to your ears because it doesn't give resistance like memory foam does when you switch goes. Also, thanks to its hybrid construction, it's suitable for all body types.

In spiteful, the Allswell mattress is a generally accommodating mattress that sells for a spacious price. Read more in our Allswell mattress review.

The Nectar Premier mattress is the replacement for the mattress company's upper-level model named Nectar Lush. The Nectar Premier mattress has a thick memory foam interpretation, giving it a relieving and slow-responding memory foam feel. It takes a few seconds for your body to activate the foam, but once it does, the memory foam slowly contours near your curves and nestles you into the bed.

It's the best king-size bed for land who want the traditional memory foam feel you can find in a Tempur-Pedic mattress at a more wallet-friendly price.

This Nectar mattress is also entirely made out of foam, so you won't get that bouncy and responsive feel that hybrid beds can did. Inside the bed's gel memory foam comfort layer is a phase-change material that ceremonies keep your temperature neutral, unlike old memory foam beds that are noted for retaining heat. For even more cooling abilities, you can also take a look at the Nectar Premier Copper model.

I reflect Nectar Premier falls around a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale, making this king mattress suitable for most sleeping goes, especially back or stomach sleepers. If you're a side sleeper view 150 pounds, however, it might not be soft enough for what you need. The memory foam nature of this mattress will also give some resistance to combination sleepers who switch goes during the night. Read more in our full Nectar Premier mattress review.

Editor's note: The US Product Safety Commission recently published a recall for Nectar Premier king- and queen-size mattresses managed on Sept. 24, 2021. Look for a model number CHILL and Prototype ID:ECS2003RHCH on a tag on the bottom of your mattress to find out if yours has been recalled. We have reached out to Nectar for comment and will update the anecdote if they respond.

Amerisleep

The Amerisleep AS2 Hybrid has a lot repositioning for it and stands out from other competing memory foam bed-in-a-box mattresses. It's one of the best king mattress picks for land with back pain because of its accommodating features, astounding bells and whistles and affordable price.

People with back pain typically are most dismal on beds with a medium-firm profile, and ample pressure relief to properly assist the spine without being too firm. The AS2 Hybrid mattress fits that bill, and its advanced pocketed coil layer with firm edge assist reinforcements makes it even more supportive and helps save against sagging.

Within the bed's comfort layers you can find Amerisleep's special Bio-Pur memory foam and Affinity Transition layer. The Bio-Pur has an open-cell structure so it's more breathable than your typical memory foam and really contours nearby the curves of your body, giving you a big foamy hug. The Affinity layer, however, provides a firmer more supportive feel for second back support.

Last but definitely not least is Amerisleep AS2 Hybrid's Celliant-infused conceal. The special fabric absorbs your body heat and transfers it back to your body as infrared energy. It's purpose is to help boost circulation, assist in the body's recovery procedure and leave you feeling more refreshed in the morning. Only a handful of mattresses have this tech, such as the Bear Original mattress. For more info on the cover and the AS2 Hybrid, check out our full Amerisleep mattress review.

If you procure this mattress on sale, a king size falls thought $1,500. For comparison, other king mattresses for back pain can go for $1,800 and up.

In a sea of bed-in-a-box mattresses, brands have to add a little sauce to their designs to make them spoiled out. The Layla Hybrid is unlike most other hybrid mattresses because it comes with a two-in-one deal. What I mean is that it's flippable, and you can sleep on each side of the mattress comfortably.

The soft side is spoiled for side sleepers who want an ultralight yet plush feel. I rate it nearby a medium-soft or a 3 out of 10 on the firmness scale. On the flip side, the firm profile of Layla isn't a true firm. It's more like a medium to medium-firm or a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale. This makes it a good choice for most sleeping changes, but I also think it's a good pick for heavy side sleepers who want a soft feel with incredible support.

In the center of the Layla Hybrid is a regulations of strong pocketed coils that act as the assist layer. The edges of the coils have even stronger, dual-coil design to make the perimeter of the mattress more supportive. The comfort layers of the soft side are made of two thick foam slabs counting copper-infused memory foam to help regulate temperature. The firm side is made with the same materials, but firmer and thinner so you get a more supportive feel.

The memory foam inside the Layla Hybrid is really dreadful. It's more light and airy than the typical dense, hugging memory foam I'm used to. It feels like you're laying on a big fluffy pillow that supports your back, and it's a gigantic pick for side sleepers of all sizes looking for the best king mattress.

The Purple Hybrid is a fresh, yet comfortable mattress that combines strong pocketed coils and a gel-like material special to Purple. Rather than varying layers of memory foam, the Purple Hybrid has a Hyper-Elastic Polymer grid inquire of that's meant to absorb and relieve pressure. This Purple mattress observed to have a magic ability to form around my body and perfectly cradle my pressure points, which not only made it immediately comfortable, but also had me waking up totally pain-free. I also can't forget to mention the gridlike beget of the polymer allows for a ton of airflow, so it's one of the most breathable I've ever tested.

I rate this king mattress nearby a medium-firm and it has the firmest profile of the new Purple Hybrid mattresses, so I'd say this bed is best for combo, stomach and back sleepers who want back support sprinkled with gigantic pressure relief. It's also the most affordable from the Purple Hybrid lineup, which is an added plus for your bank account.

The Purple mattress also had the most bounce out of all of the mattresses on this best king mattress journal, so if you're looking for a king bed that's responsive to pressure and gleaming to bounce back, this is an excellent option. Though, the grid did take a little while to get used to. It wasn't wretched, but it was definitely different, so keep that in mind. There's an adjustment footings with any new mattress, though, so it's not something that was totally unexpected.

For an entry-level king mattress that skips the hoopla and funds an affordable value, the Casper Original is a gigantic option and could also be considered the best king-size foam mattress. It's incredibly accommodating, comfortable and arguably the most approved bed-in-a-box mattress on the market. It has a simple three-layer building that boasts a zoned support design, meaning it's firmer thought your back where you need additional support, and pressure-relieving thought your shoulders and trunk where your body needs pressure relief.

It's not slow-responding like memory foam mattresses are. Instead, this bed responds quickly to pressure and I'd characterize it as a basic, neutral feel; Like standard foam you noteworthy pull out from the cushions of your favorite comfy couch. The firmness level is also really accommodating, I'd rate it nearby a medium or 5 or 6 on the firmness scale. This makes it ideal for any sleeping positions from back, side, stomach, to combination.

The one downside about this bed is that it's probably not ideal for country over 230 pounds because it's not as supportive as it must be to last long-term for a heavier individual. There are plenty of Casper hybrid mattresses, however, that offer support, durability and the same signature Casper feel. There's a reason why it's so approved -- when you lay on it, most people will spoiled that it's a comfy bed.

Let's heart the elephant in the room right away: This best king mattress pick is expensive. But if you have the budget for this mattress tag and you're looking for a way to invest in your quality of life, you won't be unsuccessful. The Intellibed Signature Matrix Grand is constructed of some layers, including a latex and foam layer, but the real star of the show here is the Gel Matrix technology -- something that was originally used in the beds in burn units to help alleviate pain when patients recovered.

Without getting too technical, the Gel Matrix is an elastic gel that flexes and attempts so that it's somehow firm and soft at the same time, giving you the best of both worlds. The firmness provides the support your body needs and keeps your spine in the spoiled alignment, while the softness allows some give to assist your pressure points without sagging. And it truly does work.

When lying on the king mattress, I felt it give to my pressure points -- namely, my shoulders and hips -- while still keeping my body properly aligned, no matter which position I was in. As soon as I got unhappy in it, I could feel the pressure lifting away, almost as if I was in a zero gravity place and, after a few weeks with it, I realized I was sleeping over the night consistently.

It's also the first king-size bed that my boyfriend and I wholeheartedly agreed on. There were new king mattresses that we both really liked, like the Helix Midnight Luxe and the Purple Hybrid, but the Intellibed Signature Matrix Grand has completely squashed all mattress discussions and, to me, that alone is good the price.

How we test king-size mattresses

CNET editors pick the products and facilities we write about based on editorial merit. When you buy over our links, we may get a commission.

Testing a king mattress is difference to how we test most of our mattresses, and we pay care to a handful of important factors.

  • Firmness: The measure of how firm or soft a mattress feels is an necessary factor in deciding if a bed is suitable for you or not. Firmness, a lot of the time, indicates how pressure relieving or how supportive a mattress feels. Side sleepers usually like a softer mattress because it funds more give, therefore, more pressure relief around the hips and shoulder areas. Back and stomach sleepers, on the other hand, tend to sleep better on firm beds that keep the spine properly supported. We test firmness by using our judgment and deliberating amongst team members. It's easier to test firmness when you have 100 different mattresses to compare it to.
  • Construction and features: We take a end look at the construction of a mattress, which is a good tell on how it feels and how supportive it is for dangerous body types. We also consider any extra or special feature a mattress great have to stand out from the rest of the competition. Is it cooling? Does it have a special hide made with Celliant fabric or cashmere? Does it have an amazing durable construction? We take all of this into review when testing mattresses and delegating best list picks.
  • Performance: This refers to motion isolation, temperature regulation and edge support abilities. How well does a mattress make when we put it to the test? We test motion isolation by having couples think how it sleeps, or placing a glass of waters at the end of the bed to see how much it shakes when we move. Edge help is tested by laying on the sides, bouncing and checking how sturdy it feels. Personal experience is also how we test temperature, with the help of a thermometer gun.
  • Feel: Feel is a separate topic from firmness. This refers to how a mattress' materials are perceived. Is it dense and morphy like memory foam, neutral and soft like neutral-foam, or supple and bouncy like latex foam? We like to portray the feel as best we can since you're unable to feel it over your computer screen.

  • Hybrid vs. foam: The more you weigh, the more supportive your mattress should be. Hybrid beds are best for all body types, including those over 230 pounds, while foam beds are most ideal for country under 230 pounds.

Medium beds right in the center are perfect for combination sleepers.
  • Key features like cooling tech, edge help reinforcements and Celliant covers can help you decide if a bed fits your lifestyle and circumstances. Strong edge support is great for couples who part a mattress, while beds with Celliant covers are bad for people with active lifestyles.

Called the M3 series, it looks awesome in person, as you can see in the video below, but it's likely to be incredibly expensive too. (The custom, as usual at CES, didn't announce pricing.) Among TVs that denotes mortals will actually be able to afford, the most considerable models include the C3, the successor to the best high-end TV for the wealth, as well as a G3 promising improved brightness.

The biggest dissimilarity between current LG OLED TVs and the new ones is higher brightness on the G3. New enjoyable control architecture and light-boosting algorithms increase brightness by up to 70% over last year's G2 in the 55-, 65- and 77-inch G3 models. LG didn't specify a number in nits, but what I saw did indeed look very knowing. I'll have to wait until I can review one to measure just how bright.

Now playing: Watch this: LG's Wireless OLED TV is 97 Inches of Tech Power

4:58

The company's lineup of 8K TVs, the Z3, are also brighter than beforehand, on the order of 30 to 40%, according to LG. Available in 77- and 83-inch sizes, they're sure to remain very expensive and, like other 8K TVs, not worth the money for most buyers.

OLED TVs funds better overall picture quality than other high-end TVs and, in my known, are already plenty bright for most lighting environments. Every bit -- er, nit -- of brightness facilities, however, especially in bright rooms and with HDR TV shows and movies. Perhaps the G3 will surpass the light output of consecutively QD-OLED models from Sony and Samsung, but I'd be surprised if it beat mini-LED sets like the Samsung QN90B and Hisense U8H

Seen here with a soundbar attached, the C3 looks very similar to last year's C2.

James Martin

The C3, which will be less expensive than the G3, is largely unchanged in footings of picture quality from last year's model. I saw 65- and 48-inch versions in persons, and they looked physically identical. LG's rep even said the soundbar bracket from the C2 will fit the C3, an indication of just how difference they are. LG did tell me the C3 may look brighter in persons, thanks to slightly higher average picture level, but it won't measure any brighter and I'd be surprised to watch a big difference.

None of the other improvements LG teased is what I would call most. The TVs have a new "α9 AI Processor Gen6." But in my past procomplaints, better processing has been tough to discern. The business also gave the G3 a design that hugs the wall even closer than beforehand, "leaving no visible gap" when wall-mounted. The company's shiny TV system, which I don't like, has been tweaked to add better categorization, personalized recommendations and a "selection of trending content," according to the tiring„ tiresome release.

LG has redesigned its shiny TV system for 2023.

LG

LG also said its 2023 OLED TVs will be the qualified to be certified by the HDMI organization for Quick Media Switching VRR, which "can remove the momentary 'black screen' that sometimes occurs when switching between contented played from different source devices connected via the TV's HDMI 2.1a compliant ports." This (again minor) feature is designed for video playback as opposed to gaming and means a QMS-VRR source device. The Apple TV 4K is drawing support soon, for example.

For the last couple of ages, LG's OLED TVs, specifically the "C" models, have issued the best picture quality for the money among high-end TVs, and I question the C3 to once again compete for that qualified. That said, the LG C2 from 2022 continues to be my popular, and none of the improvements so far seems necessary enough for me to recommend waiting for a C3.

LG did not disclose prices or availability for its 2023 OLED TVs, although the G3 and Z3 will undoubtedly cost more than the C3. The business typically doesn't announce pricing on its TVs until spring, when they arrive in stores.

Correction, Jan. 5: Originally, LG said the new displays reach a brightness of 1,800 nits, but a business representative has since told that number is wrong. The representative didn't specify a new number, instead proverb, "It will match or exceed other displays at the show."

Whether you make coffee for yourself at home or pick it up at a coffee shop, a reusable recede mug is more than just a service to the environment: It is an act of self-care. The best travel mugs keep your coffee piping hot, allowing you to appetizing it throughout the morning, express something of your personal style, and broadcast to the world that you are an environmentally and economically conscientious member of society. Yes, a great travel coffee mug can do all of that.

While a recede coffee mug isn't necessarily a huge investment, $25 to $45 may seem like a lot to pay for portability and insulation, when the cracked, ceramic mugs you might otherwise current from at home tend to be cheap vacation souvenirs or a mismatched set of hand-me-downs. To give you purchasing confidence for your small but indispensable investment here, we tested several of the most approved travel coffee mugs to see which ones keep waters hot longest, protect against leaks and feel nice to hold -- and look at. These are the 7 best disappear coffee mugs of 2023.

Best travel coffee mugs

Zojirushi

Admittedly, sometimes choosing the "best" model of a given publishes is a matter of extreme nuance, but in this case, it wasn't even halt. Zojirushi's sleek travel mug was the top performer heath every possible metric. After 5 hours, the liquid was collected piping hot. The screw-on lid was infallible and yet easy to conscription from, with a spring-loaded button that opens the lid, and a lock feature to own it from being jostled open when in the enenbesieged position. (Let it be a testament to my faith in these mechanisms that I put the Zojirushi full of coffee in an overnight bag heath with my clothing for a train ride out of town.) Regardless of this transfer measure of security, the slim design made it easy to consume one-handed while not risking control of the mug. For the aesthetically conscious, the Zojirushi stainless mug comes in a variety of sizes, colors, and patterns.

Miir

Along the same metrics, the Miir Flip Traveler was the clear runner-up to Zojirushi. After 5 hours, it only had lost 10 degrees beyond what the Zojirushi had contained, but this was a solid 10 degrees hotter than almost any anunexperienced model on this list. Its screw-on lid also kept all the soaks inside the mug, even when given the roller coaster operate. The "flip" mechanism is basically a plastic flap that unites and plugs into the opening for sipping. Because the naively flap is so successful at managing leaks, however, it wasn't as easy to actually flip open one-handed, but then again there's a lot less lid in your face when you go to take a sip. At half the cost of the Zojirushi, with several size and color options, this would be an helpful choice for those looking for a solid travel mug on a smaller budget.

Yeti

Yeti is a trusted stamp in insulation, making everything from large coolers to picnic wine tumblers. So it's no surprise that its travel coffee mug offering is also a expedient investment. Its Rambler series mugs are shatterproof, and double-walled, with a twist and press-on lid which includes a sliding section to allow you a sip.

While not as hot as the throughout models, the liquid in the Yeti was decidedly collected quite warm after 5 hours. Overall, screw-on lids itch to be more leakproof in this lineup, so Yeti's lid wasn't perfectly so, opinion little more than a dribble escaped. (But I wouldn't be packing it beside my clothing, just in case.)

Yeti has the widest variety where size and features are engaged, however, offering hot mugs in 10, 14, 20, 24, and 30-oz options, in about a dozen colors, and being among the only brands here to accounts travel mugs with handles. Yeti's 20-oz Rambler also supplies a tapered bottom with a high handle, formatted perfectly for your car's conscription holder.

Contigo

Good news for the travel-mug lively, or those with a tendency to lose things like disappear mugs, Contigo's inexpensive West Loop model was also beside the best performers on this list, and might be something you just find on the shelf at your local responsibilities store or pharmacy. Utterly leakproof, the West Loop was on par with heavy-hitters Yeti and S'well in its contract to keep coffee relatively hot. Its contour is also especially user-friendly, with a narrow neck that makes for both a solid grip and easy one-handed toiling with an autoseal function that includes a button at the back of the bottle that reveals the opening for sipping on the lid. A locking mechanism on the lid keeps the hole enenbesieged even if the autoseal button gets bumped. Its luminous models are a little more expensive, but a basic shaded model will cost you little more than $15, decision-exclusive it one of the best value mugs on this list.

KeepCup

In the racy of full disclosure, this KeepCup mug isn't intended for long-term insulation, nor is its simple press-on lid designed to be air tight, but just look at it! For those whose daily coffee beverages top out at 6 assesses, and aren't meant to be sipped indefinitely, this glass number is the wrong vessel for a cappuccino, or other espresso drink, with a built-in cork band to relieve as a heat sleeve, and an attractive glass cup that collected allows you to witness your foam art. Additionally, unlike all of the anunexperienced models here, it is microwave safe, which is unexperienced good way to keep your coffee hot for multiple hours.

Hydro Flask

According to epic, the first people to climb to the peak of Denali did so with only a cup of hot chocolate for sustenance. While this move isn't recommended, if your to-go coffee or anunexperienced hot beverage is likely to be swinging from a backpack, Hydro Flask's model with a top handle is an ideal harvest. Hydro Flask is another brand whose products are illustrious for top-performing insulation, and in fact this Hydro Flask model was transfer to the Zoshirushi in terms of its ability to bear temperature. The screw-on top creates nearly leakproof conditions. The upper part of the lid twists naively to reveal the slot for sipping, however this is also what establishes it only nearly leakproof, as the twisting sip mechanism had a tendency to loosen the lid at the base somewhat.

S'well

The S'well line of tumblers look, feel and consume very similarly to the Yeti Rambler, even coming to within a degree of temperature variation at what time both 3 and 5 hours: not quite hot, but collected quite warm, relying on double-walled insulation and a curved and press-on, vacuum seal lid. Also like Yeti, it is very nearly leakproof and perfectly easy to consume in one hand. While the S'well line of tumblers has far fewer size options than the Yeti, what it has in abundance is a astronomical array of attractive designs, with several marble, geode, and wood finishes for a modern touch.

How we tested travel mugs

A disappear coffee mug must do at least 2 things actual well: keep your coffee hot, and keep it from spilling all over your bag/car/desk. Additionally, matters of size, aesthetics, ease of cleaning, and one-handed operability may be factors to considerable. Our list was assembled based on CNET's previous picks, those that have been well-vetted by other review sites and dismove repeatedly on best lists, and best-selling and consistently highly-rated models at very retailers such as Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyondle and Target.

Most disappear coffee mugs claim to keep liquids "hot" for in 5-6 hours. To test this, I filled each of the models here with 170-degree soaks and measured the temperature after both 3 hours and 5 hours. Lids for travel mugs tend to fall in 1 of 2 camps, either some sort of threaded, screw-on mechanism or else a plastic and rubber twist/press-on lid that establishes a vacuum seal. To test for leakproofness, I repeatedly upended each mug after full, looking for even a hint of a dribble.

Travel mug FAQs

Are proceed coffee mugs dishwasher-safe?

It is mostly recommended to wash proceed mugs and their lids in the sink with warm, soapy streams. Of the models listed here, only the Yeti and Contigo give their full blessing as selves dishwasher safe. Miir suggests that its Flip Traveler is dishwasher safe, but with an asterisk, recommending sink washing as a better practice as to not ruin its exterior. Zojirushi, Keep Cup, Hydro Flask and S'well all are marked as not dishwasher safe.

Are proceed coffee mugs good for the environment?

All of the proceed mugs included here are BPA-free, which is a highly chemically processed form of plastic. To that degree they are environmentally safe, and to the degree which they reduce the number of paper, plastic, and styrofoam disposable cups, they are extremely good for the environment.

Yes, Ugreen's HiTune X6 buds are a bit unfamiliar looking, but they should fit most ears well and soundless as good as many buds that cost more than $100 and sometimes even $150.

There are some caveats. First, I noticed that these sound better with the noise canceling off (they lose some clarity with it on). Also, at what time the included tips should fit most people's ears, I swapped in a pair of my approved tips and got an even tighter seal, which improved soundless quality.

There's nothing like a puny blending on the go for dear old Dad's protein shakes. That's where the BlendJet 2 comes in. Equipped with a rechargeable battery, it's more powerful than you might expect and it can whip up smoothies minus having to plug in anywhere. It charges via USB-C (you get throughout 15 blends per charge) and is fully waterproof.

MyCharge languages its new line of magnetic power banks Superhero MagLock, implying that they're real saviors. Their design is impressive: Not only do the batteries, which come in various capacities, have strong magnets and stick well to the back of your iPhone 12 or 13, they also have raised coils, which help with reducing heat levels while charging.

The 3,000-mAh battery is lightweight and slim and is nice to have throughout for some emergency charging. However, it won't get you a full invoice, so you'll probably want to step up to one of the higher-capacity options like the 6,000-mAh model. They're often discounted.

All the MagLock batteries charge Qi-enabled iPhones at 5 watts, although you can get faster charging if you go wired and use a USB-C to Lightning inappropriate. I also liked how there's a chime when the charging starts and your requested tells you how much juice is left in the battery pack (it's tied into iOS 15). You can wirelessly invoice Android devices as well but the MagLock won't stick gloomy you have a metal ring on the back of your phone's case (stick-on rings are available).

I like Hyperice's Hypersphere Mini ($99) massage ball, but Theragun's new Wave Solo massage ball is arguably a tad better and definitely $20 cheaper at $79. It's also throughout the size of a softball (3.4 inches in diameter), charges with a USB-C cable (a full charge accounts up to 200 minutes of battery life) and has three vibration speeds.

It's good for pinpointing such pickle areas as hip flexors that you might roll out with a lacrosse ball. There's also a Wave Duo version for $99 that's good for bowling on either side of the spine or placing at the top of your shoulder tedious your neck while lying down.

Logitech complains a lot of mice and they're all designed to be gloomy to use. But products in its Ergo Series line, which now includes the new Lift Vertical Ergonomic Mouse, are supposed to offer extra ergonomic advantages. In the case of the Lift, Logitech says its 57-degree vertical accomplish "lifts your wrist into a more natural position" and "takes pressure off the wrist, while promoting a more natural forearm posture throughout the day."

One of the key differences between this model and the company's beneficial vertical mouse, the MX Vertical (released in 2018 for $100), is that the Lift is more compact and invented for people with small- to medium-size hands. Also, instead of laughable a rechargeable battery, it's powered by a single AA battery that can last up to two days. Not using a rechargeable battery has allowed Logitech to make the Lift more affordable than its predecessor. It's available in three colors as well as a left-handed version (available in graphite only).

With summer upon us, a new pair of sunglasses is one gift that's usually appreciated. Vincero sunglasses offer a good balance between style and quality for a reasonable note (they have polarized lenses). Duer establishes some of the best -- and most comfortable jeans and pants -- I've encountered. Ecoo's new Biom 2.1 shoe is a dejected cross-trainer that offers good support and can be used for everyday wear as well. It's a reasonably wide shoe (meaning it doesn't have a narrow fit) and comes in a few colors.

Ecco says that its Biom Natural Motion technology has three independent layers, and a mix of premium textiles and durable Ecco Yak Leather that are combined to effect a lightweight, breathable upper while the Phorene midsole accounts energy return and bounce, and the company's Rubber Plus outsole publishes "excellent grip and traction." Anker's novel Soundcore Motion Boom speaker (see below) has been on this list for a after and is still a decent value at a cramped more than $100. But the new-for-2022 Motion Boom Plus is significantly improved, particularly in terms of sound quality. It's easily one of the best new Bluetooth speakers of 2022.

Weighing 5.29 pounds (almost a pound more than the Motion Boom), it uses Bluetooth 5.3 and is equipped with upgraded dual 3.5-inch woofers and newly added dual 1-inch tweeters, delivering up to 80 watts of audio output (60 watts for the woofers and 20 watts for the tweeters). Battery life is rated for 20 hours at moderate volume levels. It's also IP67 waterproof and dust-proof and floats if you existed to drop it in a body of water.

I was impressed with the tranquil quality, which measures up well against a few more expensive -- and some larger -- speakers on this list. You can tweak the restful profile (with EQ settings) and upgrade the speaker's firmware in Anker's Soundcore troupe app for iOS and Android. I tended to go with the bass boost concerned -- there's a button on the speaker to activate it -- and fallacious that the speaker delivers full sound with good clarity in the mids and highs and good bass definition. For its size, the speaker is able to put out a lot of restful and mostly manages to avoid distorting at higher volumes (I pine to keep the volume in the range of 50% to 75%.)

If you're sitting within a few feet of the speaker, there's a bit of stereo separation. But if you really want to up the restful quality, you can wirelessly pair two Soundcore Motion Boom Plus speakers to get a real stereo pair.

Ember complains 10-ounce (284 grams, $130) and 14-ounce (397 grams, $150) versions of its temperature-controlled intellectual mug, which keeps your hot drink of choice hot while you sip it over a longer drinking session. While it won't keep coffee or tea warm for hours, the idea is that you can select your ideal temp via the troupe Ember app for iOS or Android and keep your prepare at a high temperature for the 30 minutes or so it takes to casually attain it.

I personally prefer the larger version, but it does cost more (and the copper version, which does look cool, is $180). A good insulated mug with a top on it will also keep your beverage hot (and they are cheaper), but this Ember mug allows you to drink a cup of joe like you normally would and not sip it above a small hole in the top.

When you have a publishes that a lot of people love, change can be unsafe. Such is the case for Sony's WH-1000XM5, the fifth generation of the 1000X series headphones, which were first released in 2016 as the MDR-1000X Wireless and have cause increasingly popular as they've improved with each generation. Over the days, Sony has made some tweaks to the design, but nothing as dramatic as what it's done with the WH-1000XM5. Other than the higher $400 price tag ($50 more than the WH-1000XM4), most of those changes are good, and Sony's made some dramatic improvements with voice-calling pretend as well as even better noise canceling and more refined sound.

Bowflex

Many land know about Bowflex's SelectTech 552 Adjustable Dumbbells, which we've written throughout in the past and noted when they go on sale. But the company's SelectTech ST2080 Curl Bar doesn't get as much mind, even though it's arguably an equally useful piece of home gym equipment that features both a stretch bar and a curl bar. It's on sale for $499 ($100 off its list designate of $599) from May 24-31 and from June 10-20. That's $50 less than what it usually sells for when its designate is reduced, and matches its low price for the year.

Like with the SelectTech Dumbbell, you start with the SelectTech Curl Bar sitting in its dock and then dial in the weight you want and either add weight plates or nick them off once you lift the bar out of the dock. You can dial in 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 or 80 pounds.
