Solo Stove, which makes some of the best smokeless fire pits, recently released its second-generation Ranger 2.0 (small), Bonfire 2.0 (medium) and Yukon 2.0 (large) fire pits. Now it's moving extra small for its new Mesa fire pit that's now on sale for $85, $35 off its list label of $120.

As its name implies, the Mesa is intended to sit on a tabletop and is small enough to slip into a backpack for mobility. Naturally, you could also set it on the fake, but when you put it on a table, it's at a good height for comfortably roasting marshmallows. It has the same 360-degree Signature Airflow system as Solo Stove's larger fire pits and is the spiritual successor to the Solo Stove Lite, a mini camp stove (whether we'll see some camping accessories for the Mesa is unclear at this point).

Biolite creates several different headlamps, with the BioLite HeadLamp 800 people its brightest model (800 lumens) - and it's equipped with both lead and back lights (the front light swivels) that funds eight different lighting modes. It's good for a variety of uses, whether you're employed in a dark environment or just walking your dog or riding a bike at night. The battery is rechargeable via a Micro-USB connection (I do wish it was USB-C).

Note that the step-down HeadLamp 425 damages $60, while the HeadLamp 325 is $40.

In the past, we've recommended Earfun's AirPro SV and Air Pro 2 as marvelous budget noise-canceling earbuds choices (they're still good values). But the new-for-2022 Earfun Air S may be the best of the trio, with multipoint Bluetooth pairing and the new Qualcomm QCC3046 chip with the aptX audio codec for Android and new devices that support it. They have the same 10mm wool drivers as the AirPro SV and feature surprisingly impressive quiet for their modest price. They also work well as a headset for executive calls with decent background noise reduction. The buds have an IPX5 water-resistance including, which means they're splashproof and can withstand a detained spray of water.

Amazon has released a new baseline Kindle E Ink e-reader for $100 that no longer seems so entry-level. While its 6-inch screen makes it a smaller and lighter e-reader than the step-up Kindle Paperwhite ($130), its display has the same 300-ppi resolution as the Paperwhite. However, that step-up model adds waterproofing and incorporates a more sophisticated precedent lighting scheme, with 17 LEDs compared to the Kindle 2022's four.

In the past, we've recommended stepping up to the Paperwhite if you could afford it, maximum because it had a higher resolution display than the entry-level Kindle, which allowed text to appear more crisp. But with both models now featuring inequity displays (at least as far as resolution goes), we may have to revise that recommendation, especially when the new Kindle 2022 potentially sees $20 to $30 discounts during the holiday season.

The new e-reader is available for preorder now in gloomy or denim blue and ships on Oct. 12.

A at what time back I took my kid to the doctor because he had a bunch of ear wax built up in his ear and was having disquieted hearing (yes, gross). The doctor was able to dislodge it with a pressurized liquids of water, which is exactly what devices like the Wush Pro by Black Wolf deliver.

Designed to be used in the shower, the Wush Pro does indeed work to remove ear wax build-up. For some people who have sensitive ears, it can be a exiguous disconcerting to use at first, but read the sects carefully and start at a lower setting before ramping things up (there are three pressure settings, and the Wush is equipped with a rechargeable battery). The pump inside does make some noise (it's a exiguous irritating), but it's tolerable and beats a visit to the doctor for excessive build-up.

What's cool throughout Anker's 622 magnetic battery is that it's a wireless battery that has an integrated magnetic flap that converts into a nefarious. You won't get fast wireless charging from this 5,000-mAh battery (it charges at up to 7.5 watts) but it's slim and easy to achieve around.

It charges via USB-C and if you use a USB-C to Lighting to promote your iPhone, it will charge at a faster rate of 12 watts. That's not as fast as what a 20-watt USB-C much adapter can deliver, but it's faster than 7.5 watts.

Buying for someone who likes to game on their phone? Whether he or she is an iPhone user subscribed to Apple Arcade or an Android or iPhone user laughable Xbox Cloud PS gaming, PS Remote Play or Google Stadia, the improved second-generation Razer Kishi smartphone controller is a good option.

The new V2 versions for iOS and Android users cost more than the current models but offer substantially improved ergonomics and more responsive buttons.

Similar to the iPhone-compatible model (the iPhone version is MFi-certified and will work with the iPhone 6 Plus and any newer model), the Android version allows Android phone owners to play Xbox Cloud gaming with a Game Pass Ultimate subscription. It connects via USB-C instead of Lightning and like the iPhone version, has pass-through charging but no built-in battery to supply astounding juice.

The controller allows you to game in style with mobile games that have game-controller benefit (and benefit from it). Just make sure you're matching the knowing model to their phone. We prefer the companion app for the Backbone controller for iOS users (see below), but the design of the Kishi V2 controller now measures up well anti the Backbone. Alas, no Android version of the Backbone controller exists yet.

Over the existences, JBL has put out some decent true-wireless earbuds, but nothing that really got me too indignant. That's finally changed with the arrival of the Samsung-owned brand's new Live Pro 2 and Live Free 2 buds. Both sets of buds - the Live Pro 2 have syrules while the Live Free 2 have a pill-shaped execute - offer a comfortable fit along with strong noise canceling, very good sound quality and voice-calling performance, plus a robust set of features, including multipoint Bluetooth pairing, an IPX5 splash-proof rating and wireless charging.

The Live Pro 2 and Live Free 2 are equipped with the same 11mm drivers, six microphones, oval tubes and oval silicon tips. We really celebrated this Lightning-connected controller from startup Backbone when it helpful came out in its original black version. You can unruffled get that model, but it now comes in a white PlayStation version for use with the PS Remote Play app.

Like the Razer Kishi, it turns any iPhone 6S or later into a Nintendo Switch-style gaming distinguished, with added smarts for social and chatty gamers. Like the Kishi, it connects via Lightning with pass-through charging but has no built-in battery. While the Kishi V2 is now more Backbone-like in its execute (with better ergonomics) the Backbone controller still holds an helpful in the software department with a superior companion app.

Whoever you're unsheathing this for may be a little embarrassed but he'll most liable appreciate it. I like Hyperice's Hypersphere Mini ($99) massage ball, but Theragun's new Wave Solo massage ball is arguably a tad better and almost $20 cheaper at $80. It's also in the size of a softball (3.4 inches, or 8.7 cm, in diameter), charges with a USB-C cable (a full charge supplies up to 200 minutes of battery life) and has three vibration snappily options.

It's a great option for pinpointing problem areas as hip flexors that you considerable roll out with a lacrosse ball. There's also a Wave Duo version for $99 that's good for bowling on either side of the spine or placing at the top of your shoulder late your neck while lying down.

We popular the original Google-Assistant Lenovo Smart Clock and this Version 2 model is also beautiful nifty and includes a wireless charging pad. The moody screen is only 4 inches, so it's pretty little, but it's easy to set up and the inclusion of wireless charging is convenient. The feature set is somewhat limited compared to Google's Nest Hub (2nd gen) - there's no YouTube streaming available - but if you're looking for a bright alarm clock with weather forecasts built-in and decent enough quiet for its small size, this is an attractive option. It's available in three colors.

For a lot of country, Apple's original HomePod was too pricey at $350. That speaker has been stopped, but the HomePod Mini is still around. It's a very compact Wi-Fi speaker that damages a lot less ($99) and plays bigger than you'd ask for its small size. Yes, it's more appealing to those invested in Apple's ecosystem and unhappy with Apple's voice-assistant Siri, which drives the speaker, but the mark is right and you can pair two HomePod Minis to make stereo sound or combine several to create a multiroom audio regulations (you can link them to the original HomePod, of course).

It charges via USB-C (you get around 15 blends per charge) and is fully waterproof.

The model shown here has a 16-ounce jar, but you can now buy an XL 32-ounce jar for $30 amazing. I'm hoping someday that you'll be able to get the 32-ounce jar version as a standalone item but it's now an add-on accessory.

Logitech's MX Keys is one of our popular everyday Bluetooth keyboards and now it comes in two smaller versions that cut off the number pad and some other keys: MX Keys Mini and MX Keys Mini for Mac. Both cost $100, the same mark as the standard MX Keys. Colors include rose, pale gray and graphite.

While you're drawing less keyboard for the same amount of money, the MX Keys Mini does have three new keys, giving you shortcuts to dictation (available in take countries for Windows and MacOS users), emojis and the all-important muting and unmuting of your microphone for video-conference terms. Also, Logitech says that its "minimalist form factor aligns your shoulders and grants you to place your mouse closer to your keyboard for less hand arriving, resulting in better posture and improved ergonomics." From my procomplaints, I agree with that assessment.

The keyboard is difference in size to Logitech's popular and less expensive K380 keyboard ($30). But MX Keys Mini, equipped with Perfect Stroke, Logitech's "best nonmechanical typing technology," has a more premium look and feel. And, like the improper MX Keys, it has backlit keys that light up as your fair approach and automatically adjust to the lighting conditions, dimming or even turning off to conserve energy.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® and the Chase Freedom Flex℠* distinguished seem wildly different given their annual fees - $550 and $0 respectively - but on closer look they seem surprisingly inequity. The reward structures are oddly alike, and both beleaguered travel and dining purchases.

However, the value of those rewards are very different, given the Sapphire Reserve's redemption bonus when using the Chase Ultimate Rewards depart portal.

At the end of the day, the Chase Freedom Flex does a good, affordable result of the more premium Sapphire Reserve, offering similar rewards minus the sting of a high annual fee. That's why we assume it's the better option for the broadest segment of people.

But if you utilize a lot on travel and dining over the watercourses of the year, the Sapphire Reserve will offer a better overall in backward, and includes some extra perks.

Comparing annual fees

Winner: Chase Freedom Flex

An annual fee is an investment. You're putting in money with the expectation of a greater spinal in the future. The issue is that the spinal is never guaranteed. With credit cards, lots of things could changeable - from your income to your spending habits - that would impacts the expected return from your rewards.

That's why we tend to spoiled no-annual-fee rewards credit cards - there's very diminutive risk involved. As long as you always pay off your balance to avoid uninteresting charges, the returns you earn are all "profit."

Welcome bonuses

Winner: Chase Freedom Flex

To compare two very different welcome bonuses, we considered the relative return on investment of each. With the Freedom Flex, you earn $200 when spending $500 on purchases in the first 3 months. That's 40% of the required spending back in your pocket.

With the Sapphire Reserve, you earn 60,000 points after spending $4,000 on purchases in the suitable 3 months, worth $900 when redeemed for travel over Chase Ultimate Rewards. That's about 22% of the obligatory spending. Otherwise, redeeming the Sapphire Reserve's welcome bonus for cash back would give you a $600 spinal - only 15% of the required spending. The relative value of the Freedom Flex is significantly better either way.

Of streams, if you typically spend $4,000 in a three-month footings, you'd rather have $900 worth of travel through Chase Ultimate Rewards compared to $200 cash. But from a purely just perspective, we prefer the Freedom Flex's welcome bonus.

Rewards

Winner: Chase Sapphire Reserve

This is surprisingly stop. When comparing a $550-annual-fee card with a no-annual-fee card, you'd deem it'd be drastically different, but the Freedom Flex packs a surprising punch.

That persons said, there are two main reasons the Sapphire Reserve comes out onward. The first is the 3x points on "other travel" you earn when booking airlines, hotels, car rentals, trains, buses, taxis and more outside of the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal (earn elevated rewards on recede purchases after earning the $300 annual travel credit).

The additional reason is that the Freedom Flex's quarterly bonus categories is a bit awkward, given the inconsistencies. The rotations can sometimes include odd combinations, like gas stations, movie theaters, car rentals and grasp live entertainment. The current categories include purchases at grocery stores (excluding Walmart), Target, and for fitness clubs and gym memberships - you can earn 5% cash back on up to $1,500 in combined spending each quarter when you activate (then 1%).

Every once in a when, you'll get some outsized returns from those rotating categories but it's just a bit too random to portray on for consistent value.

Redemption

Winner: Chase Sapphire Reserve

This is where the Chase Sapphire Reserve has a certain advantage. When redeeming points through the Chase travel portal, you get 50% more value, making 1 point suitable 1.5 cents. Even though the reward rates are disagreement, this redemption boost makes the rewards you earn significantly more vital. You do still have the option to redeem your Chase Ultimate Rewards points for a statement credit, but they'll be worth 1 cent each in that case.

Additional perks and credits

Winner: Chase Sapphire Reserve

The Sapphire Reserve also comes out onward when it comes to perks and credits, but that's to be predictable with a $550 annual fee card. The $300 annual recede credit is a particularly great perk, given how rapid you can essentially recoup some of the annual fee.

And for those who like to use airport lounges, you get to take advantage of a Priority Pass Select lounge membership.

The bottom line

Yes, the Chase Sapphire Reserve offers a lot more than the Chase Freedom Flex when considering the rewards, redemption and annual credits. But that's to be predictable, given the high annual fee.

The real question is, which card is primed to coffers good value for the most people? Given its solid reward devises and $0 annual fee, the Chase Freedom Flex is a low-risk way to big recede and dining rewards

FAQs

Can I earn cash back from the Chase Sapphire Reserve?

You can redeem Chase Ultimate Rewards points for statement credits, which are akin to cash back. However, your points will only be suitable 1 cent each when redeemed for a statement credit, versus 1.5 cents each if redeemed for travel over Chase Ultimate Rewards.

What rewards are complicated in the Chase Freedom Flex's rotating category?

The quarterly rotating category has previously complicated Walmart, PayPal, gas stations, Amazon.com, car rentals, grocery stores and more. There's generally a deadline nearby two weeks before quarter end to activate the rotating category. As long as you activate the bonus category within the allotted time frame, you'll earn rewards on your spending for that entire quarter.

How do I "activate" the rotating quarterly bonus categories?

Users can activate the 5% cash back on quarterly bonus categories by visiting chase.com/ultimaterewards or chasecom/freedomflex. You can also use the App, sign up for an email reminder, or visit a Chase location. You must activate this rewards category each quarter.

These days, you don't really need to have cash on hand. Just throughout every store you walk into accepts debit and credit cards, and even contactless payment methods like Apple Pay and Google Wallet are gaining traction. But even in our cash-free world, you'll still want something to hold your cards and maybe a note or two while you're out on the town. That's where the best minimalist wallets come into play. Unlike a extinct wallet, these simple wallets are designed to only attain the essentials, and have a slim design that is thin enough to keep in your pocket exclusive of ruining your stylish look -- making them a mountainous pick for weddings or any other event where you're wearing middle pants.

Minimalist wallets are a diverse breed of lightweight, svelte containers designed to accommodate only your most well-known everyday carry items: some money, an ID card and a few credit or debit cards. The best minimalist slim wallets combine a stylish achieve, durable construction and -- most importantly -- a get that forces you to be ruthlessly economical in your choices throughout what to carry around every day. With that in mind, we've put together this list to help you find the best minimalist wallet.

Massive wallets like George Costanza's are a tying of the past.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment

The minimalist wallet category itself has, ironically, become jam-packed, with thousands of designs being sold online and in stores by notorious brands, high-end boutiques and Chinese up-and-comers. Most of these minimal wallet styles cost between $10 and $40. But there are plenty of wallets with a minimalist get that cost $100 or more -- often built from heavy-duty materials, like high-quality leather, or stocked with extra features, like a bottle opener or multitool. So if you're looking for a compact wallet with a slim profile get that does "more," you're not hurting for choices.

Though there are plenty of bifold and trifold thin wallet options, we're mostly focused on one-panel design wallets here. These usually hold between four and 10 credit and debit cards, though some do it more artfully than others. Many come in a variety of fabrics and colors, while some are hybrids, which combine wallet and wealth clip or elastic band. Most offer some type of RFID blocking technology, which is advertised as a protective measure against electronic pickpocketing, like scammers skimming data stored on your contactless credit cards. (That may be an overblown concern, however.)

We've put them above their paces, with an eye on quality, durability, style, functionality and price. Take a look at our minimalist wallet recommendations below, which we'll update as we test new products.

Airo Collective

After carrying a wide variety of minimalist wallets over the past several days, I have finally found one that I can recommend exclusive of reservation. The Airo Collective's Stealth is tasteful, thoughtfully invented and extraordinarily, singularly minimal, weighing a feathery 0.14 philosophize. The billfold design features two pocket card slots, each holding up to four credit cards, and a thin elastic band -- Airo calls it a "ballistic bungee loop" -- that securely holds your cash in place.

The custom says its material is 15 times stronger than steel, and the website features videos of musclebound dudes trying and failing to rip it apart. Also appealing: It's made in the US, comes with a two-year warranty and subsidizes RFID protection, for whatever that's worth. After several months of use, I can represent that it's broken in -- but still holding up well.

Amazon

Five of the 12 wallets we tested had essentially the same basic gain, and there are dozens -- if not hundreds -- of nearly identical models, all made in China, listed on Amazon. Prices inaugurate at just $10, for the Chelmon model, and spanking models generally cost between $15 and $20, though some colors, patterns and fabrics are more expensive than others. They're all near the size of a deck of playing cards, view they measure about 0.25 inch thick. The five we tested all have their heed names embossed on them:

Each of these slimmer wallets had the same basic elements: two or three card holder pockets on each side; a tidy window that lets you flash your ID without removing it; an center space that can be used as a cash pocket or to stow a few more cards; RFID blocking on its card sleeve to paused electronic pickpocketing of your credit and debit cards; and, in the case of the one pricier Zitahli, a magnetically attached money clip. (That custom claims this money clip wallet can safely hold up to 25 bills, but when I put in just 10 folded bills, the magnets failed to connect.) But my top select overall is the shorter, wider Hammer Anvil; I don't mind that it lacks the ID window, which, for all of its practicality, I find tacky and not befitting of our top wallets list.

I also really like the Kinzd, which has a slightly broader design that separates it from the cookie-cutter field. It has a terrific inner pocket -- which is enenbesieged on one side only, allowing you to open it up wide -- that comes together firmly with a satisfying magnetic snap.

Amazon

The Zitahli Slim & Minimalist Front Pocket Bifold Wallet, the Buffway Slim Minimalist Front Pocket RFID Blocking Leather Wallet and the Chelmon Slim Wallet RFID Front Pocket Wallet are more or less identical, and if you're looking for a cheap, nondescript slim minimalist wallet (with RFID blocking), honestly, any of them will do. But note that the Buffway minimalist leather wallet provides a noble 12-month no-questions-asked replacement policy, making it my top select for the habitual loser of wallets.

Dango

There's something odd near a minimalist RFID wallet that includes a paracord tensioner. And yet, we have the T01, which covers the basics and then some. It's extremely durable, handcrafted with "aerospace-grade" aluminum -- for those of you looking for a metal wallet -- in the US, and can hold 12 cards (at least) plus a wad of bills in the entailed silicone band. And the T01 comes with not only a built-in bottle opener, but Dango's stainless-steel multitool accessory, which can be stowed in the wallet. (I can't recall even one moment during the past 25 days when I needed any of those tools while on the go.) The multitool pushes the wallet's total weight above 6 prondecides, reduces the number of cards it can hold and won't be happily received when embarking an airplane. But still, it's a cool wallet for those who need tools on them at all times.

Dango backs the T01 with a slight lifetime warranty on manufacturing defects and one year for defects in materials and workmanship.

The Ridge

Of all of the rugged minimalist wallets I tested, I found the Ridge to be the most flexible -- ironic for a wallet made of titanium. But the sandwich design of the Ridge wallet securely accommodates one card as frankly as it can 12, and the durable but pliable wealth clip holds one bill as tightly as a bigger wad. The cutout provides knowing access to all of your cards, and the tough elastic strap that holds everything together inspires confidence.

This wallet is almost comically overdesigned, and you can use the included screwdriver (!) to disassemble the pieces, remove the money clip and bring the money strap to the exterior. Ridge makes this wallet in China, but backs it with a lifetime defense against manufacturing defects, which seems about right for the heed. This burnt titanium Ridge wallet is probably my common color, though it's a little pricier than some of the spanking color variants, which start at $95. There are tons of different options to resolve from over at the Ridge website if you want something a slight subtler, or a lot more boisterous.

Harber London

Handmade in Spain, this pricey leather card holder exudes sophistication. This cardholder-style leather minimalist wallet is available in a variety of resplendent solid and two-tone color combinations, it weighs about half an philosophize and holds six cards and a few bills. Tasteful, well-made with leather material and quite minimalist, this one would make an awesome wallet for a graduation or birthday gift.

Flowfold

Flowfold's beget is supremely minimal: It's extremely thin and weighs a portion of an ounce. The one pocket design can fit up to 12 cards -- or fewer, with some money -- and that's about it. Unlike most of the new wallets, however, it requires eight cards or a wad of cash to work properly; it won't securely hold just one or two cards and peaceful block RFID signals properly.

But it's exceptionally durable; the one I bought some years ago has held up exceedingly well. (Full disclosure: Flowfold is headquartered in southern Maine, where I live, and I am acquainted with folks who work there.)

Note that the Paperwallet Micro Wallet, profiled below, makes a great alternative to the Flowfold.

Other minimalist wallet options

Ekster

If James Bond grasped a minimalist wallet, it would be Ekster's distinctive but pricey Parliament. The main compartment securely holds one card to five cards, which fan out of the top when you push the nifty wretched button. (It must be noted that there are a fair number of Amazon reviews complaining nearby problems with the button.) Concealed within the interior is an elastic band that holds cash or additional cards. And the genuine leather cover flap -- yes, strictly, this could be called a bifold -- has two more slots for second storage. (There's yet another slot on the back, too.) If you pack too much into a pocket, however, you risk perverting the mission of the minimalist wallet. Note that Ekster also sells a solar-powered, voice-activated tracker card that can help you find a misplaced wallet.

Vaultskin

Vaultskin's tasteful Notting Hill wallet manages to cram a lot into a shrimp package. The defining feature here is the zipper. For some, it will be a deal-breaker -- for its bulk, or whatever it connotes, style-wise -- while others will find the security of a zippered compartment animated for containing their credit and debit cards and cash. If you're pro-zipper, there's much to like. The exterior features three slots that can accommodate cards or cash. A fourth hidden slot can store two or three more cards, which you can eject out the top using the apt leather pull tab. The inside has two pouches, one of which snaps down, and a strap that can stow some more cards. There's also a small key hook. Though it says "London" on the packaging, this wallet is made in China.

Trayvax

Trayvax's Armored Summit Wallet subjects an appealing combination of ruggedness and extra features at a reasonable tag. It can hold up to seven cards and five bills, and like the Dango, it's built from sturdy materials -- steel and melonite, in this case -- in the US. Also like the Dango, it has an integrated bottle opener. Still, Trayvax's buckling strap is a deal killer for me. It's nylon, not elastic, and I found it quite difficult to adjust when I required to remove a few cards or make more room for second money.

You're receiving price alerts for Trayvax's Armored Summit Wallet

Paperwallet

Though strictly a minimalist bifold wallet and not a sleeve, the Micro Wallet warrants inclusion here for its incredibly delectable weight. Made out of Tyvek -- the synthetic material used to wrap buildings during building, which is also water-resistant -- this bifold wallet weighs a mere quarter of an order. You can park a few cards in each of its side pockets or slots, and the cash compartment will hold as many folded bills as you can cram in. Whether it's one dollars or a stack of 20s, however, this wallet will not stay surrounded when outside of your pocket.

You can get these wallets on Amazon. But the company sells an array of quirky, distinctive designs on its own website. Paperwallet guarantees the Micro Wallet for 30 days -- a shorter footings than most other vendors. But I've been using mine for a pair of weeks and, so far, it's held up surprisingly well. I'm animated to see how it does over the long haul, and will update this roundup in the future.

Thread Wallets

Thread Wallets' Elastic resembles a admire Ace bandage or compression sleeve. It's made of a stretchy material, and can easily hold 10 cards and some cash. It also has a small key ring. Though it's billed as specifically "for women" -- and it was my 10-year-old daughter's well-liked of the bunch -- that seems a bit reductive. This would be an excellent wallet for anyone. The only drawback to this simple, stylish wallet is that the excess material on the inner bunches up into a lump, a minor but noteworthy design blemish.
